Appalachian Review
A longstanding and fantastic journal of literary and photographic gems from across Appalachia.
A Country Boy Can Surmise
Silas House is one of the most lauded and exceptional writers to come out of Appalachia in recent history, and also a very close friend. He has a keen eye and a lyrical writing style. He also has a brilliant blog and always keeps his finger on the pulse of what's happening in the world at large, in writing, music, and the general landscape of our country. I've never walked away from his blog without feeling like I came away more informed and moved. Good stuff here.
Poetry Daily
This is a great way to get a little piece of poetry each day and Poetry Daily has a great and varied selection of people featured each day.

Still: the journal
This beautiful journal of Appalachian writing and arts was a staple for me as a writer until it closed shop in late 2024, but you can still go to the website to see the archive of writing and art.
